Pre-School (Age 3.5 - 5 yrs)
We use a mixture of the innovative Montessori teaching method and a unique mix of hands on learning technique environment rich in sensory experiences. We believe learning comes from curiosity within each child. Our staff work with children to create a calm focused atmosphere in a fun and stimulating environment.
Children are introduced to the fundamental practical life skills, sensorial skills, language skills (reading & writing) basic mathematical and culture (geography/science) in a fun and motivating way in the Montessori class. In line with Aistear (the early childhood curriculum) we help develop each child’s social skills through creating interactive experiences such as circle time and ‘News of the Week’.
Each child experiences equality and diversity in the setting through the different activities we implement, dress up, creative arts & crafts, dancing and more. The children have the freedom to ‘explore the world around them’ through experiments they do in the class. We prepare the children for school by introducing them to the Irish language, numbers, colours and letters and nurturing them to become independent children.
The Pre-school is eligible for the ECCE Scheme which entitles all children to a FREE Pre-school year prior to starting ‘Big School’. Click here for more info
