After-School Club (School Going Age)

Our after school club provides children the opportunity to relax and unwind after their busy day in school in an enjoyable and calm environment. Children can enjoy free-play with our large selection of age appropriate jigsaws, games, puzzles and board games after homework is complete. They will be encouraged to participate in our daily activity programme which consists of arts & crafts, sports, projects, baking, chess, music/dance, book club & scientific experiments.

Staff will assist and sign off on all homework completed in our care. All homework will be completed in our quiet area of the homework club and a sufficient amount of time is allocated to each child.

Children are encouraged to do all written homework first. Each exercise will be checked by a staff member before a child starts on the next exercise. When staff are happy a child has worked on an exercise to the best of their ability their journal will be ticked and initialled. Learning homework (Spelling, Tables etc.) will be checked once all written work is completed.

Reading homework must be completed at home. We believe that this type of work should be done with a child’s parent on a one to one basis.

Every parent should check that homework is satisfactorily completed each night and then sign their child’s homework journal. It is up to each parent to take responsibility for their child’s homework and make sure that all work is done to the best of their child’s ability.
